Darnall Carnival a big success in spite of the showers

This year's Darnall Carnival was a big success despite being blighted by showers for the first part of the day. After lunch the sun came out and more than 4,000 people came into High Hazels Park to enjoy the fun. The Lord Mayor, Councillor Talib Hussain, opened the carnival with local councillors, Mazher Iqbal, Mary Lea and Dianne Hurst.
Visitors enjoyed a range of attractions and information stalls, ranging from a conjurer to Bhangra music star Zack Knight, who took top billing on the stage.

Carnival organiser Zahira Naz said, "The carnival was a big success again, building on Darnall's reputation for being able to put on a good show. It's all thanks to the many volunteers who helped with stewarding and organising for the event, or came to provide information stalls. Next year we are hoping to grow even bigger."

Darnall Carnival, High Hazels Park Saturday 12 September 12-5pm

Darnall Carnival is an event that promotes community cohesion and celebrates diversity  by bringing people together to share different cultures, food, art and entertainment. 

The carnival is in its 13th year since it was first revived by local residents in 2003, and thanks to the generosity of our sponsors it's going to be bigger and better than ever. There is something for everyone and everyone is welcome!

Khiza and Soni J Join Zak Knight on Stage at Darnall Carnival

Darnall Carnival Committee are pleased to announce that Khiza and Soni J will be performing on the main stage at this year's Carnival on Saturday 12 September in High Hazels Park. 

Zak Knight is our headline act this year. His cover of the song Dheere Dheere Se‬ has been viewed more than 5 million times on YouTube.

The Amazing "Bullet Tooth" Kayaani to Guest Star at Darnall Carnival

The amazing, Super Sports' Star UMER BULLET TOOTH KAYANI will be making a guest appearance at the Darnall Carnival! 

The unbeaten Welter Weight Contenders' Champion is a mixed martial arts athlete, and we are delighted that he has agreed to come and talk to local young people about his experiences and to encourage them to try out his sport or other physical exercise.

Sheffield Muslim Forum are Proud Partners of Darnall Carnival 2015. We are delighted to announce that Sohail Mumtaz, with his amazing talent to capture beautiful pictures, will be the official photographer on the day, along side Sheffield Asian Media Forum. The Team will be  filming and interviewing people on the day, so if you see them coming towards you please don't run! On Saturday 12 September from 12 till 5pm in High Hazels Park, free blood pressure checks by Darnall Pharmacy.

The  Bazaar will be located in the main marquee this year. 

We have over 20 stalls selling refreshments, clothes, scarfs, henna, beauty products,  jewellery, toys and much more.

Princess Elsa at Darnall Carnival 12 September

There will be great entertainment for children and their families at this year' Darnall Carnival on Saturday 12 September from 12 till 5. A team of professional entertainers will provide moments that will be remembered by everyone. Highlights include
  • 30 Minute Magic Show with puppets & a baby rabbit. No baby rabbits will be sawn in half during the performance!
  • Princess Elsa our special guest attending the Darnall Carnival, make sure you come and say hello to her and don't forget to take a photo next to her!
  • From 1.00-2.30pm balloon modelling around the park. Bend it, shape it, tie it, pop it! Balloon models are a fun way to entertain kids (including the big kid inside every adult!)
