A major Concern in the area is a lack of activities for women and children especially in the summer holidays. A group of young people aged 13 to 18 years helped organise the event.
The event was very successful with over 300 people attending, who came to buy delicious food, bangles, clothes, shoes, scarfs and Aloe Vera products. Some ladies even had manicures done whilst the children enjoyed the bouncy castle, ice cream, face painting and Mehndi.
Zahira had a fantastic opportunity to conduct further deep listenings with over 200 people, who spoke about their concerns and loves in the area. Councillor Dianne Hurst also attended the event and Zahira introduced her to the volunteers who talked about the lack of facilities in the area for women and young children.
